Point Pleasant Live Broadcast at the Event
ASHTON, W.Va. (WV News) — Hannan Jr/Sr High School celebrated the first annual Southern Mason County Pride and Heritage Day on Oct. 18. All students from Hannan and Ashton were on campus for the event. The event proved to be a big hit according to students, faculty, and guests.
The festivities included a petting zoo, pumpkin drops, homemade goods and live music. Students from “Point Pleasant Live” chronicled the event.
“It warmed my heart to see this small Hannan community celebrate its heritage and I am super excited to become a part of this amazing community,” said Judy Raines Pauley, Hannan social worker.
“Had a great day at the first annual Southern Mason County Heritage Day at Hannan High School today. A lot of great activities for Hannan and Ashton students. Well done,” Mason County Board of Education President Jared Billings said.
“The goal of this day is to correct a stronger sense community, family and pride in our end of the county. To celebrate in fellowship our big extended family,” Hannan Principal Dr. J.R. Carlisle said.
