Hannan took a small but mighty group to GEAR UP Student Voice Forum at the Charleston Coliseum. There we listened to the story of Zach Gowen, the one legged
wrestler who never gave up. He lost his leg to cancer at a young age but never gave up the dream to be a WWE wrestler. Now he is a motivational speaker who travels across the country.
His message was clear. We may be from West Virginia but we can accomplish anything we set our minds to!!!
Then the HEROs broke into smaller groups and was able to meet several students from all over WV.
Our homework assignment? Create a project to help motivate students to attend college or obtain a post secondary certification.
On December 17th, we will meet again virtually to discuss what ideas we came up with for our "project".
These are my HEROs, the ones who attended the meeting today. It was a good day to network with other students and exchange ideas.
