Sarah Cordell PR'd in the 200 meter dash at 31.07 seconds.
Olivia Reffit PR'd in the 200 meter dash at 32.12 seconds.
Kalynne Price PR'd in the 200 meter dash at 32.91 seconds.
Della Gibson placed first in the 400 meter dash AND she PR'd at 1:08:48
Della Gibson placed first in the 800 meter dash.
Della Gibson PR'd in the shot put event, throwing at 27.7 feet. She also placed 4th overall.
Kayla Gibson PR'd in the shot put event, throwing at 20.8 ft.
Brooke Ashworth placed 2nd in long jump.
Olivia Reffit placed 3rd in long jump with a PR of 12’6!
Matt Saunders placed 5th overall at shot put, scoring points for the boys track!

Exciting opportunity for 9th and 10th graders! The Governor's School of Tourism will run June 20-29th. Think about what WV has to offer? White water rafting; fishing; wildlife; skiing; snow tubing; four wheeling; kayaking, hiking, etc are all careers in tourism. Students will have the opportunity to tour WV and learn all about tourism and hospitality. Students will stay at State Park Lodges and visit landmarks all across Almost Heaven. See attachment for more details.


On May 12th, Pleasant Valley Hospital will be here to provide sports/marching band physicals for next year. The cost is $10 and all proceeds are donated back to the school! So, this is a great way to help raise funds for our school and getting those sports physicals completed for the 2025/2026 school year! Check mark that off your to do list and you don't have to scramble around in the fall trying to find a place to have it completed.

Interested in becoming a Color Guard member? Color Guard is a way to express and show colors off of your flag! A Color Guard meeting will be held on April 14th at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria after school. Come out to the meeting and express your true colors!

Mason County Band Day will be this Sunday, April 6th at 2:00 pm. The event will be held at Point Pleasant Jr/Sr School's auditorium. Bands who will be in attendance: Point Pleasant High School band; Point Pleasant Middle School band; Wahama Jr/Sr High School band; Hannan Jr/Sr High band; Point Pleasant choir. Everyone is invited.

Mrs. Duke will be bringing in FREE prom dresses for our students to choose. She has a wide variety of sizes and over 80 dresses! She will bring the dresses in before Spring Break. Stay tuned and we will announce the date she brings them in.

Be sure stop by the school on April 1st from 3 pm to 6 pm to check out the Job / Info Fair. If you know anyone looking for a job, we have job recruiters; welding, airplane repairs; APG, EMS, manufacturers. Over 20 organizations will be there. One organization pays high school graduates $20.62 - $ 23.02 an hour.! Also, free pantry food will be available to take home or take to a neighbor in need. Hannan is happening so spread the word for this event!

LSIC (Local School Improvement Council) meeting on April 9, 2025 at Hannan Jr/Sr High School at 5:00 p.m. . All LSIC meetings must be open to the public in compliance with the provisions of the Open Governmental Proceedings Act (W. Va. Code §6-9A-2)
