Get a Life.....
On November 12th, our 7th & 8th graders will be participating in the Get a Life program. They will have a "fake" family, job and expenses.
I need 18 board approved volunteers. It will run 8 am to approx 9:30 am.
Volunteers just man a table. You are given a script so you know exactly what to tell the student. (WV Treasury office has this down pat).
Example: Students move from station to station, obtaining gasoline or furniture from a community volunteer or other volunteers randomly hand card to students with unexpected expenses such as health scare of a broken down car.
This is a great exposure to the students for budgeting and to think about higher education beyond high school.

The Monster Dash 5k Smash is happening on October 31st at 8:00am.
Starts at the Mason County Animal Shelter.
They are seeking volunteers, runners, etc.
This is an opportunity for students to earn up to 4.5 hours of community service!
They would need to report at 7:30am and stay until around 12:00.

📚🎓 College Appreciation & Exploration Month at Hannan Jr./Sr. High School! 🎓📚
October is College Appreciation and Exploration Month, and our students have already had great opportunities to explore their future educational pathways!
So far, Hannan has welcomed representatives from Marshall University and Mountwest Community & Technical College. Our seniors attended both sessions to learn about college life, academic programs, admissions, financial aid opportunities, and career pathways.
We are proud to report that 24 students participated in both visits, demonstrating their commitment to planning for their futures and exploring post-secondary opportunities.
A special thank you to Marshall University and Mountwest CTC for investing in our students and helping them discover the many possibilities that await after high school!
