Financial Aid will be available in the first-floor lobby from 10am-3pm on Thursday, February 5th to share information and answer questions regarding financial aid.
MW will also be hosting a FAFSA Workshop February 5th from 3pm-6pm in Room 107. During this event, assistance will be provided for students and families filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Any student wanting to receive federal, state and institutional financial aid towards their degree should attend this free workshop.
Students planning to pursue a postsecondary education in the fall of 2026 should try to complete the FAFSA before April 15 to be considered for the West Virginia Higher Education Grant. To be considered for the Promise Scholarship, students must submit the FAFSA and the Promise application before March 1. Students and parents can learn more about financial aid by visiting the state’s free college and career-planning website at CFWV.com
If your student has completed their portion of the FAFSA, this is a great opportunity for parents to come in and fill out their portion.
After being home for several snowy, icy days, getting back into the school routine can feel both exciting and a little overwhelming. Today is all about easing back in, reconnecting, and giving everyone space to readjust.
Here are a few gentle tips to help make the transition smoother:

Snow days can shift sleep schedules. An extra 10–15 minutes in the morning can help everyone move at a calmer pace.
✨ 2. Revisit routines together
Go over the usual morning checklist—backpack, folders, homework, lunch, water bottle—so nothing feels rushed.
✨ 3. Expect big feelings
Kids may come back full of energy, tired, anxious, or excited. All reactions are normal after a break in routine.

HEROs (Higher Education Readiness Officers) met yesterday, and the GAME of LIFE School Project is progressing!
FAFSA workshop will be held February 3rd from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Thanks to Mackenzie from GEAR UP who met with most of the seniors yesterday and the students were able to complete their portion of the FAFSA so just the parents need to complete their portion. Please attend this workshop so you can have all your questions answered.
